Position – Estimator 

Area of Work: Epping Depot  

Hours: Full-time

UDL Group are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our successful Bids team, in this role you will collaborate closely with our Bid Coordinator on prestigious contracts spanning across wider Melbourne.

Our new office, located in Epping serves as the hub for this role, complimented by occasional site visits and flexible working arrangements. 

 As an integral part of our team, you will be responsible for (but not limited to):

  • Estimating landscape construction and maintenance works in typically large-scale commercial and public open space projects.
  • Assist in the review and administration of contract documents during the tender process 
  • Develop excellent tender documentation that includes clear, concise, and persuasive responses
  • Aiding in the preparation of project management work programs and other contract documentation to ensure job success

To be successful, what you will need: 

  • Estimating experience in the landscape industry, or demonstrated landscape construction experience combined a good ability to calculate time and workloads, or qualifications in landscape architecture or horticulture.
  • Strong attention to detail, capable of developing accurate bills of quantities from landscape architectural drawings
  • Highly developed ability to use software applications such as Microsoft Word/ Excel/Project and Planswift or Bluebeam
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills to build robust relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, coupled with demonstrated negotiation and analytical abilities
  • The ability to remain productive while working independently or as part of a team
  • Current Victorian Driver’s Licence (essential) 
  • Construction Induction Card (Red Card/White Card or willing to obtain)
  • A strong commitment to safe work practices
  • Reliability, punctuality and a strong work ethic
  • Well presented with excellent communication skills
