About the Role
Our friendly Ornamental Gardens & Nursery team are currently seeking a Horticultural Labourer who will contribute to the conservation, construction, maintenance, and regeneration of horticultural and natural areas of the Blue Mountain Botanic Garden.
What we are looking for
- Relevant experience in the development, maintenance of turf displays, maintenance and regeneration of horticultural and natural areas and construction and maintenance of landscape areas.
- Experience in the use and maintenance of relevant turf, horticultural and landscape machinery and equipment.
- Sound knowledge and demonstrated capacity to implement occupational health and safety policy and practices.
- Someone that is self-motivated and can work within a team.
- Supporting the development and maintenance of turf, horticultural and landscape areas in accordance with BG policies and procedures.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a group of world-leading staff from the fields of science and horticulture.
Essential Requirements
- Sound knowledge and demonstrated capacity to implement occupational health and safety policy and practices.
- Current driver’s licence with the ability to drive manual vehicles
- Has the ability to lift and carry a minimum 15 kilos.
- Ability to work outside of normal working hours and on weekends if required.
