Position: 1st Year Parks & Gardens Apprentice

Area of Work: Pakenham and Cardinia Council

Hours: Full-Time

We are looking for a dynamic 1st year apprentice to complete a cert III in Parks and Gardens as part of our ongoing long-term contract with Cardinia Council.

As a valued team member, you will be based out of our Pakenham Depot and be responsible for daily mowing/detailing of reserves and roadsides. Utilising our wide area mowers, out fronts and zero turns you will become a vital part of our team with your daily tasks including (but not limited to):

• Mowing

• Brush cutting

• Blowing Paths

• Picking up litter

• hedging 

• weeding

• chemical spraying

• pruning

• planting

• mulching

• monitoring flora health, treating appropriately

• minor preventative maintenance on equipment and tools

To be successful, what you will need: 

• Current Victorian Drivers Licence (essential);

• Construction Induction Card/White Card (essential)

• First Aid Certificate (an advantage)

• Strong commitment to Our “Safety first, always “ practices

• Be physically fit and love working outdoors 

• Ability to build strong professional relationships with team members 

• A Can-do attitude

• Pride in your daily work outcome
