Casual Indoor Plant Technician

Sky Gardens Group is seeking a dedicated Horticultural Technician to join our team at the prestigious Salesforce Tower, conveniently located near Circular Quay station.

About You:

The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a love for plants and nature, an eye for detail and a strong foundation in horticultural practices and principles.

The candidate will be required to work weekend and after hour shifts. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintenance of plant columns operating on recirculating hydroponic systems.
• Horticultural plant maintenance.
• Drip irrigation system maintenance and repairs.
• Weekly refilling of reservoirs with nutrient solution.
• pH and EC testing and maintenance.

Key skills include:

• Proficiency in working both independently and as part of a team.
• Competency in using various gardening tools and equipment safely and effectively.
• Knowledgeable in plant identification, care, and maintenance.
• Understanding of plant pests and diseases, including prevention and treatment methods.
• Physical fitness and stamina to perform manual tasks.
• Availability to work night and weekend shifts outside of regular business hours.
• Great communication skills and ability to use reporting apps and software.
• Strong work ethic, problem solving skills and reliability.
• Experience with hydroponics is preferred, though comprehensive onsite training will be provided to the right candidate.

Essential qualifications and requirements:

• AQF Certificate III in Horticulture or a similar qualification, or a minimum of three years of relevant experience as an urban gardener, landscaper, or horticultural technician. We will not consider applicants without these skills.
• Successful candidates will be subject to a National Police Check and Job fit Test.
