Position:  Gardeners / Horticulturists 

Area of Work:  North/West Melbourne

Hours:  Full-time

We are seeking multiple new team members (both qualified or skilled with 3+ years experience) to work on established maintenance contracts in Melbourne’s North and West.

This work is physical, so a good level of health and fitness is required, and the ability to manage your own time effectively. Ideal candidates will have a keen eye for detail to ensure our gardens and outdoor spaces thrive and flourish year-round and will be enthusiastic about having a variety of responsibilities; a chance to do a bit of everything! 

Key Responsibilities

As a valued Gardener / Horticulturalist team member you will be responsible for (but not limited to):

• brush cutting
• hedging 
• weeding
• chemical spraying
• pruning
• planting
• litter pick up
• hand mowing
• monitoring flora health, treating appropriately
• minor preventative maintenance on equipment and tools 
• general garden upkeep; keeping spaces clean and tidy

Requirements

To be successful in this position, candidates must have:

• Proven experience as a Gardener / Horticulturalist with a solid understanding of plant care techniques – essential.
• Permanent Australian work rights – essential; visa sponsorship for this position is not offered at this time.
• White Card (Construction Induction Card) – essential.
• Valid Victorian Drivers License (P Plate or Full License) – essential;
• HR, LR or MR Truck Licence – desired, but not mandatory.
• Certificate in Horticulture or similar – desired, but not mandatory.
• Traffic Management Certificate – desired, but not mandatory.
• First Aid Certificate – desired, but not mandatory.
• Physical stamina and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions – essential.
• A positive attitude, great work standards, and easy going personality to work as part of a team – essential.
