Position: Maintenance Coordinator – Turf 

Area of Work: City of Whittlesea (West) Epping Depot 

Hours: Full-time commencing Mid-January 2025

We are seeking a new senior team member to build and lead a team of 18+ grounds persons who will work on our City of Whittlesea Open Space contract. You will bring and use your strong experience as a leader, to ensure all assets are maintained to, and above specifications from our brand-new depot in Epping on this long-term contract (10 years).

Having the support of 2 x Team Leaders in your team you will use your knowledge, experience and understanding of turf to ensure our programs deliver results and efficiencies in line with budgets, whilst ensuring safety is always front of mind. 

Our ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail to ensure our allocated Open Space assets thrive and flourish year-round. You will be enthusiastic about having a variety of responsibilities, such as mentoring, training and inducting staff onsite, coordinating works and ensuring our equipment is well maintained! You Must also be comfortable with using technology and apps to complete audits, reporting, understand work location, asset area and to close out each asset on completion.  

Key Responsibilities

As a Maintenance Coordinator -Turf you will be responsible for (but not limited to):

• Safe operation of Turf & Irrigation equipment including understanding tractor attachments.
• Ensure works performed are in line with budgets and timelines set by the Client Manager.
• Conduct procurement as required to complete the work.
• Manage timesheets and work orders as directed by the Client Manager.
• Maintain good client relationships within the business.
• Manage work schedules and budget.
• Coordination and delivery of quality services to contract specifications.
• Induction of staff and subcontractors including appropriate training of staff as required.
• Manage minor preventative maintenance of vehicles and equipment by liaising with the Fleet & Asset Manager.
• Ensure all staff are adequately inducted by the Fleet & Asset Manager for the purpose of ongoing safe operation of vehicles and equipment.

Requirements

To be successful in this position, candidates must have:

• Proven experience as a turf/maintenance specialist with a solid understanding of equipment and preventative maintenance.
• Certificate III or above in Horticulture/Turf Management – essential.
• Permanent Australian work rights – essential; visa sponsorship for this position is not offered at this time.
• White Card (Construction Induction Card) – essential.
• Valid Victorian Drivers License (P Plate or Full License) – essential.
• HR, LR or MR Truck Licence – desired, but not mandatory.
• Traffic Management Certificate – desired, but not mandatory.
• First Aid Certificate – desired, but not mandatory.
• A positive attitude, great work standards, and easy-going personality to work as part of a team – essential.
