Urban Gardener

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and passionate gardener to join our innovative team at Sky Gardens Group.

As an urban gardener, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining beautiful and functional spaces in urban environments. You will be involved in constructing and maintaining green wall systems, roof top gardens and hydroponic systems.  You will also be responsible for the installation and maintenance of gardens, irrigation, and fertigation across multiple sites.

To be successful in this role, you should have a keen eye for detail, a love of nature, and a good knowledge of horticultural practices and principles.

Job Duties:

• Plant, cultivate, prune, and care for a variety of plants, trees, and shrubs.
• Identify and treat plant pest and disease issues.
• Install and maintain irrigation systems, fertigation systems and hydroponic systems.
• Lawn maintenance.
• Prepare planting sites, identify and amend soil issues.
• Propagate a variety of plants and install new gardens in accordance with best practice horticultural techniques.
• Perform other gardening tasks as required.
• Report daily using various project tracking apps.

Job Requirements:

• AQF Certificate III or IV in Horticulture, or equivalent qualification and experience or at least three years of relevant experience as an urban gardener, landscaper, or horticultural technician
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to use various gardening tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Knowledge of plant identification, care, and maintenance.
• Knowledge of landscape design and construction techniques.
• Knowledge of plant pest and diseases, and their prevention and treatment.
• Physical fitness and stamina to perform manual tasks in various weather. conditions.
• Willingness to work at heights when required – training will be provided.
• As some jobs are scheduled outside of regular business hours, a willingness to work these shifts.
• Suitable candidates will be employed subject to the results of a National Police Check and Jobfit Test.
