We’re looking for a skilled Horticulturist Arboriculture to help maintain and nurture the iconic tree collections at our world-renowned garden.

The role
In this role, you’ll be involved in tree maintenance, curation, and the care of iconic species as part of our ongoing work and maintenance programs. You’ll have the chance to work with rare and unusual trees, hone your general arboriculture skills, and develop specialist skills in tree risk management, habitat creation, pests and diseases management, and global tree conservation.

What you will bring to the role

What is an essential requirement:

  • Certificate III in Arboriculture or equivalent qualifications with experience in a wide range of horticultural maintenance and services, including arboriculture and use of associated plant and equipment.
  • Chainsaw certificate level I or equivalent experience in chainsaw operation and tree climbing
  • Willingness to obtain a SafeWork NSW High Risk Work Licence to operate boom-type elevating work platforms (WP) within the first six months of employment
  • Current driver’s licence and willingness to undertake fieldwork for extended periods of time and have the ability to lift and carry a minimum 15 kilos
  • Ability to work outside of normal working hours and on weekends if required.
